ASSOCIATION GREEN CENTRE ALBANIA, Shkoder, Albania  (GCA) is created 30 March 2006 by the decision of the Court of Tirana.

 

 

It is a nongovernmental organization, social-scientific, whose main goals are:

• Protection and preservation of natural resources
• Public awareness for protection of environment
• Concrete action in environment for improving of ecological balances
• Support of scientific researchesin environment

GCA aims to realize these goals through:

• trainings and qualifications of the students for ecological problematics
• sensibilisation of the community for the importance of concrete action in environment
• developing of scientific researches in the different fields of environmental pollution and effects in environment.
• Influence for respecting of environmental law
• Collaboration with environmental NGOs within the country and abroad
• Providing of the scientific information in the fields of biodiversity and water management
• publication of brochures, informationmaterialsin the service ofthecommunity
• organizing of scientific events as workshops, conferences, etc
• The centre of association is in Shkodra and has about 30 members. The association works in national and international scale with all levels of the public, especially with local people. GCA is nor a member of any NGO unit or “umbrella”organization. The incomes of the association are provided from the quotation of membership and the support from donors for the projects implemented by the association.

OTHER ACTIVITIES :

• GCA is licensed from the Ministry of Economy for expertize on environmental assesment and environmental audition. (2015)

MAIN IMLEMENTED PROJECTS:

• Survey on Fishermen Socio- Economic condition and illegal fishing activities in lake Shkodra, World Bank project (LSIEMP), 2007

• Awareness for beach cleaning Velipoja (2011): WB (as partner)

• Strengthening the activities of the Association GCA , through continuous development activities and long-term protection and preservation of the environment (SENIOR A, REC, 2013)

• Creating public image and strengthening of intellectual and human capacities of the GCA.  (SENIOR A, REC, 2014)

• Training on waste management in Ana e Malit Commune(2014-2015)

• STRATEGIC ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT OF GENERAL PLAN OF COMMUNE VELIPOJE SHKODËR (2015) FINANCED FROM COMMUNE VELIPOJE
